“Warfare” is an upcoming war action film co-directed by Ray Mendoza (former U.S. Navy SEAL) and Alex Garland (known for Ex Machina and 28 Days Later).

Set during the Iraq War in 2006, the film follows a platoon of Navy SEALs on a mission that goes awry in insurgent territory, unfolding in real-time to offer a visceral portrayal of modern warfare and camaraderie.

The movie is set to release on April 11, 2025, and stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Ray Mendoza, with a supporting cast including Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, and Michael Gandolfini.

The film has received positive early reviews, with a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, praised for its technical execution, emotional depth, and a shift away from traditional war movie tropes to focus on the realism and human aspects of combat.
