The Gardener (French: Le Jardinier) is an action-comedy film directed by David Charhon (The Last Mercenary).
Serge Shuster (Michaël Youn), a special adviser to the President of the Republic, stumbles upon a dangerous state secret, unaware that he is putting himself and his family in grave danger. Targeted by government operatives and placed on the infamous “Matignon List,” Serge’s survival rests on an unlikely protector—his gardener, Léo.
Léo, portrayed by (Jean-Claude Van Damme), is no ordinary gardener. With a hate for “slugs” of all kinds and a taste for action, he uses his intimidating martial arts skills and sharp wit to protect Serge and his family from reoccuring threats. The film combines high-stakes action with comedic moments as the resourceful gardener becomes the family’s only hope.
