Taiwanese actress and singer Barbie Hsu, renowned for her role in the 2001 television drama “Meteor Garden,” has passed away at the age of 48. She died on February 2, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan, due to pneumonia resulting from influenza complications.

Hsu was on a family holiday in Japan when she contracted the flu, which progressed to pneumonia. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow and gratitude for their time together.

Barbie Hsu began her career at 17 as part of the pop duo S.O.S with her sister before achieving widespread fame with “Meteor Garden.” She is survived by her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and two children from a previous marriage.
