This upcoming comedy-horror film, “Death of a Unicorn,” is set to premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival on March 8, 2025, followed by a U.S. theatrical release on March 28, 2025.
The film stars Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as a father-daughter duo who accidentally hit and killed a unicorn en route to a weekend retreat. Their predicament intensifies when Rudd’s character’s billionaire boss, Richard E. Grant, seeks to exploit the unicorn’s miraculous curative properties.
The supporting cast includes Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, and Jessica Hynes. Directed and written by Alex Scharfman, “Death of a Unicorn” marks his feature directorial debut. The film’s score is composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies.
