Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has publicly expressed solidarity with Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the senator battles a legal dispute with Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
On March 5, 2025, Henshaw took to Instagram to commend Akpoti-Uduaghan’s courage and resilience, emphasizing the systemic challenges women face in leadership. She wrote:
💬 “We forget so readily how far we have come. We forget our lineage, our history, our strength. We are told we are weak, we are spineless, and cannot think. We accept the new role foisted on us, the subtle submission imposed by religion, by society, by tradition.”
She further reminded women that they are descendants of ‘countless women-warriors’, challenging societal norms that expect women to be seen and not heard.
Henshaw’s support follows the lawsuit filed by Mrs. Unoma Akpabio against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, stemming from the senator’s allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Akpabio.
