Actress Halima Abubakar has tearfully appealed for financial assistance, sharing her struggles in a video posted on her Instagram on February 18. In the emotional post, she revealed the severe difficulties she’s facing, including financial hardships and health issues.
“I am not okay, but I’ve learned to appear strong. I’ve been pretending to be fine when in reality, I am struggling every day. This is how I truly look, not the filtered images you see on social media. I am not lying about my illness,” Halima explained.
Halima disclosed that she spent a year in the village battling her illness, refuting claims that she is “faking” her condition. She admitted that she has been forced to beg for financial help for medical expenses, highlighting the toll it has taken on her.
“I have numerous medical procedures I need to undergo, including an MRI and managing my blood pressure, which is currently 157. I haven’t worked in over six years, and I’ve sold everything, including my cars, just to survive. Yet, no one in Nollywood seems to care,” she added.
In her plea, Halima reached out to her followers and Nigerians to help, urging them to contact the Kogi State government and her local senator to assist her.
“Please help me. My account details are 1003475060 (Zenith Bank). I’m tired of begging. Tag people who can help. I need help from Kogi State government. I’m desperate,” Halima urged.
