Today April 23, 2025, Nigerian music icon 2Face Idibia was appointed as the Technical Adviser to the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia. The announcement came during a visit by 2Face to the Government House in Makurdi. Governor Alia expressed gratitude for 2Face’s support of his administration and endorsement for the 2027 elections, highlighting that the musician’s influence and wisdom would be instrumental in advancing the state’s entertainment sector and community outreach efforts.
This appointment marks a significant shift in 2Face’s previous stance on politics. Although he had previously expressed reluctance toward political involvement, stating in 2016 that he did not see himself running for office unless appointed, he has now accepted a formal advisory role within the Benue State government.
